Traditional copper deg used for attar distillation
The copper deg
03 / The craft Thirty hours, one flame

Time is the ingredient no one can replace.

Flowers enter the copper before sunrise. A low fire draws their vapour into sandalwood oil, one patient hour at a time.

  1. 01
    Harvest

Petals are picked while their natural oil is still at its fullest.

  2. 02
    Distil

The deg and bhapka work slowly over a wood fire for up to thirty hours.

  3. 03
    Rest

The oil settles for months before a single bottle is filled.
